JKHA second graders have completed their biography reports and presentations. They began months ago when they chose their biography book on the person they wanted to research. They researched their person’s childhood, recorded specific facts on notecards and documented page numbers. Then, the students used the notecards to write three paragraphs. Each paragraph included a topic sentence and many important supporting details. Once they were finished writing their draft, each student edited their work using an editing checklist and conferenced with a teacher. Once the written reports were completed the students then gave an oral presentation to the class. The students were excited to share all of their knowledge in many creative ways such as acting in a video, creating a poster with a timeline, picture and important facts, dressing up or presenting through Powerpoint. JKHA is so proud of each student’s effort, process, creativity and final product.
