You recently published an article that remarkably encapsulated a pre-teen’s crippling depression, self-harming tendencies and suicidal thoughts (“Fighting for Life When Death Knocks on Your Door,” September 17, 2020). Thank you for publishing that article. Too often when it comes to these topics it gets pushed under the rug because it is taboo. In reality, this is something that unfortunately happens more than one would like to think in the Jewish community. Not all pain or scars are visible. What’s most important is for everyone to support each other regardless of what battle they are fighting. It could literally save a person’s life. Kol Yisrael areivim zeh lazeh.
