Ma’ayanot is proud to wish a mazal tov to Sonia Weiner (‘21) on her selection as a 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist. She is among approximately 625 semifinalists who have been selected from a pool of nearly 6,500 candidates. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2021. Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Scholars are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. The school is so proud of Sonia’s accomplishments at Ma’ayanot including as co-editor-in-chief of Ma’ayanei Torah, excelling in rigorous classes. Sonia is also a happy participant on many Ma’ayanot teams such as track, soccer, drama and Torah Bowl. Sonia has been the recipient of numerous awards both inside and outside of Ma’ayanot.
