Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

It has been 365 days. One year. It has been a year of grief, resilience and hope. On October 7 Ma’ayanot students and faculty remembered and honored the memory of those we lost and davened for the safe return of all the hostages and the safety of our chayalim. Students commemorated October 7 through tefillah, song, learning and connection. It was a day to come together to offer strength and light to ourselves and others. The day’s programming was structured and framed around Jonathan Golden’s “Heart-Head-Hand” model. Through this model, speakers, panels, learning, singing and activities were programmed to process feelings, pose important questions and identify actions that flow from the feelings and questions. In the hallway towards the front of the building, the Kir Tikvah, Wall of Hope was on display, and students were able to write and post tefillot, requests, thoughts and questions. It is the hope that the Kir Tikvah will bring strength and resilience to the Ma’ayanot community. Throughout the day Mrs. Neugroschl’s message of אור חדש על ציון תאיר—find your light, shine bright and spread it to others during this difficult time resonated through the student body. ה עז לעמו יתן ה יברך את עמו בשלום
