During winter break MDS math teacher, Mrs. Miryam Alter connected with displaced families from southern Israel currently living in Jerusalem. Once back in New York, Mrs. Alter sought a way for MDS students to connect with the children of the families she met in Israel. She enlisted the help of eighth graders who were excited about the project. The students have been sending videos introducing themselves and teaching the Israeli students how to play different math games. MDS students are not only building a connection with these children, but also practicing their Hebrew (and math too)!
