Migdal Ohr’s ‘Taste of Light’ Chef Dinner Raises $300K

(Courtesy of Migdal Ohr) American Friends of Migdal Ohr’s “Taste of Light” exclusive chef dinner raised $300K with a 3x match from generous sponsors as part of a $2.4M crowdfunding campaign to support orphaned and underprivileged children in Israel. The evening celebrated 50 years of Migdal Ohr’s remarkable accomplishments raising over 20,000 children and transforming Israeli society for the better.

“Taste of Light” took place in Teaneck on the eighth day of Chanukah and featured an exclusive hand-curated chef menu by Chef Yosef Epstein and Chef Meir Goldberg with wine and cocktail pairings by Wine Expert and Specialist, Gabe Geller of Royal Wine Corp.

At the event, Executive Director Atara Solow shared that, “For the thousands of children at Migdal Ohr, we are their family. Instead of a life on the streets, these Jewish children are living a wholesome life where they are internalizing core Jewish values that will help them succeed and overcome the challenges that life throws their way. This Chanukah, we are culminating with a growing light that started with the biggest campaign we have ever run! Thanks to you, the 50th anniversary of Migdal Ohr is just the start of the next 50 years caring for and empowering the next generation!

Thank you to gracious hosts Noam and Rebecca Block who opened their home and to the amazing planning committee that made it such a success: Chani and Akiva Bersson, Ashley and Elli Klapper, Gail and Binyamin Rieder, and Elissa and Steven Seltzer.
