Englewood Health has introduced new services that are vital for the community, particularly during these challenging times. With the establishment of video visits with doctors, as well as an urgent care center, Englewood Health is providing convenience and improved care to meet the health care needs of residents throughout Bergen County.
Englewood Health wants you to get the care you need, when you need it. To help support patients and their families during these unprecedented times, the health system now offers video telemedicine visits at many of its practices in the Englewood Health Physician Network.
Call your doctor’s office to find out about options for a telemedicine visit. It’s easy and convenient: Make a telemedicine appointment, and you’ll speak with your doctor in the comfort and safety of your own home over a secure video chat on your computer or phone.
You do not need to enroll in any special service or pay anything beyond your normal copay, coinsurance and deductible. Many insurance plans, including Medicare, now cover telemedicine visits.
A video visit may be appropriate if you are concerned about COVID-19 symptoms; it’s also useful for many types of routine care. A visit could cover new symptoms, a change in a current condition or questions about medications. You could review your blood sugar levels and your diabetes care. You could see where you stand regarding your preventive care and vaccinations. Specialists could see how you are doing based on their area of expertise. Surgeons could get a look at how you are healing or at a new wound. And behavioral health providers could do medicine checks and counseling.
Englewood Health chose Zoom, a popular and easy-to-use platform for its video visits. All that’s needed are an internet connection and a computer or mobile device with a microphone, a video camera and speakers — most devices have these components. Visits can be conducted from your phone; an iPad or other tablet; or a personal computer or laptop. The doctor’s office staff emails you a weblink for you to use to log on for your visit, along with more instructions.
Due to the pandemic, Medicare and many insurance companies have recently expanded their coverage for telemedicine visits. Contact your insurance company to confirm your coverage. Visits will be billed like a standard visit, and you will receive a statement for your portion of the fee.

Englewood Health now offers urgent care. Located in Cresskill, Englewood Health Urgent Care provides adult and pediatric urgent and nonurgent medical care seven days a week, with extended weekday and weekend hours available. Patients with minor injuries and illnesses can conveniently access diagnostic services and treatment, as well as referrals to other specialists within the Englewood Health Physician Network, by walk-in, with no appointment needed.
At Englewood Health Urgent Care, health care providers are available to assist with illnesses and injuries; preemployment, camp, and school physicals; lab tests; X-rays; vaccinations; and other urgent and routine care. The facility, located at 46 Union Avenue, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Englewood Health Urgent Care is led by two board-certified emergency medicine physicians, Dr. Ajay Jetley and Dr. Aaditya Desai, who have recently joined the Englewood Health Physician Network. Jetley has been treating patients in Englewood Hospital’s emergency department since 2013.
