Moshava Ba’ir NJ Has Incredible Summer

What an incredible summer at Moshava Ba’ir New Jersey! Even the weather was as close to perfect as anyone could ask for! Thank you, Hashem!

One of the most special things about Moshava Ba’ir is the Torah learning in chinuch and how it is infused throughout the daily activities in camp. This year’s theme was binyan Yisrael, focusing on physically and spiritually building the Beit Hamikdash. One week campers focused on Shlomo Hamelech’s wisdom and leading the Jewish people, which led to an amazing Kikar Chinuch that included a Nisuch HaMayim Bucket Brigade, Terumat HaDeshen Relay Race and a Name that Shir Contest. Weeks three and four everyone enjoyed learning about Eliyahu and Elisha’s miracles while drinking delicious root beer floats and enjoying a variety of games at our weekly Kikar Chinuch carnivals.

If chanichim weren’t off on a tochnit infused scavenger hunt across the giant map of Israel or engrossed in an intense Jeopardy game, it could only mean one thing—color war! Aish and Mayim went head-to-head learning all about the fire used to burn korbanot or the nissuch hamayim where they poured water on the mizbeach in the Beit Hamikdash. It was an incredibly intense and ruach filled series of events!

In conjunction with the Nine Days, chesed week is a time for us to think of others and do mitzvot to bring us closer as a nation. We spent each day working with different organizations to help our community at large. Whether it is creating cards for Dorot, or completing the mitzvah of hafrashat challah for people in need of our prayers, the chanichim and tzevet always had something special and meaningful to look forward to each day.

As a culmination to the summer, and after a long two-year hiatus, there was finally the opportunity to bring the entire extended camp community together to celebrate the success of the summer at the end of summer carnival. Over 2000 chanichim, tzevet, parents, grandparents and siblings came together for a beautiful closing show. While everyone knows that “Hatikvah” is Israel’s national anthem which expresses love for our homeland, Moshava Ba’ir NJ created its very own anthem this summer which they like to call: M B N J. Catch it’s release in the week eight video! The ceremony concluded with a massive mifkad, but the fun didn’t stop there. The celebration continued on the fields with an incredible and interactive carnival, showcasing the anafim, chinuch activities and classic carnival rides. It was a night and a summer to remember and everyone cannot wait until summer 2023!
