On Sunday, January 26, MTA’s robotics team put on an incredible performance at the First Tech Challenge Qualifier. The team’s robot outranked more than 30 other robots to take first place during the ranking portion of the event and came in second by only a few points in a nail- biting final match during the elimination rounds. The team also won an award for innovative design for developing a system that enables the robot to scan the field for a specific game element and then pick it up. Both of MTA’s robotics teams have now advanced out of the First Tech Challenge qualifying round and will move on to the city-wide championship.
