As part of a joint program for both parents and students, Naaleh hosted representatives from Communities Confronting Substance Abuse who conducted important sessions focused on raising awareness about substance abuse. Naaleh hosted a parent program in the evening, and then as a follow-up, the 10th and 12th grade students had the opportunity to hear from the same organization, where they were presented with information about the personal impact of addiction, the harmful consequences of substance use and how to recognize warning signs of addiction. Students also learned ways to support others who may be struggling. Using virtual reality glasses, they experienced how substance use can impair perception and their abilities. The presentation also touched on the challenges students may face as they transition to seminary, college and beyond, reinforcing the importance of making informed decisions.
