Nancy Edelman Joins Idea School

The Idea School is delighted to announce that Nancy Edelman will be joining the school as head of humanities and head of teacher mentoring. Edelman has been an early adopter of project based learning in Jewish education and is particularly excited about breaking down barriers among the disciplines. She’s looking forward to integrating English, history and Jewish history, as well as art and philosophy to form a robust humanities program. She’s also anticipating the collaborative nature of the Idea School co-teaching model that will enable her to incorporate her work in the humanities with her counterparts’ in Judaic studies, science/STEM, math and music.

Edelman has a depth of experience in Jewish education. She has an exemplary educational background and for the last 19 years, has been a faculty member at TABC, where she has taught all levels of English, art appreciation and A.P. Art History. She also served as director of curriculum and educational technology. Most recently, Edelman completed her two-year training with the Jewish New Teacher Project and is in her third year of mentoring new teachers.

Edelman has been involved in the Idea School since its inception, participating in the first ever Idea School Summer Sandbox as well as the most recent one, and the school is so excited to have her officially join the team.
