New Rochelle School and Library Election Results

On May 20, voters in New Rochelle went to the polls to fill two seats on the New Rochelle School Board, to vote on the 2025-2026 New Rochelle school budget, as well as the New Rochelle Public Library’s budget. Although the voting results are not yet official as the Jewish Link went to print,  Elana Jacob and Jessica Klein are the presumed winners. In addition, voters did pass the proposed $359,468,597 school budget. This budget is 3.45% higher than the current budget and includes a tax levy increase of 3.95%. It also exceeds the state’s property tax increase cap by 0.33%. Therefore, the budget required a 60% majority to pass. Voters also approved the New Rochelle Public Library’s $7,377,667 budget, which also increases the property tax levy for New Rochelle residents
