The second PONG FOR ISRAEL ping pong tournament will take place Sunday June 8 at HAFTR, located at 44 Frost Lane in Lawrence. Matches start at 10:30 a.m. for Middle School Girls, followed by High School Girls at 11:30 a.m., then Middle School Boys at 12:30 p.m., and High School Boys at 1:30 p.m. The OPEN event starts at 2:30 p.m. for all spectators. All student events cost $18.00, with the OPEN event being $36.00. The tournament is being organized by Nationally Ranked Table Tennis Champion Estee Ackerman. Ackerman hopes that many different schools will have players attend to be able to crown champions in each event. The format will be round robin matches followed by single elimination.
