Presidential Debate Takes Place at MTA

Prior to last week’s presidential election, the Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) students gathered in the historic Lamport Auditorium to hear an informative political debate arranged by English chair Mrs. Harriet Levitt and alumnus Shua Brick (‘11). With current YU student Avi Strauss representing the Republican Party and Yehuda Goldberg (‘17) representing the Democratic Party, the students were able to learn about the positions of the two parties on various issues. Some of these issues included health care, immigration, and the riots that have been taking place due to police shootings. Both Avi and Yehuda had two minutes to answer each question and present their party’s position on each issue. It was an extremely informative program which the students greatly enjoyed.
