Nearly two decades ago, I had the honor of running for Teaneck Township Council as a young upstart, full of ideas but still learning the ropes of public service. Alongside me was my dear friend, the late Adam Gussen, of blessed memory. As two political newcomers, we were fortunate to have a steady hand guiding us: Yitz Stern.
Yitz didn’t just endorse us — he mentored us. He believed in our potential when others were still unsure. He offered wise counsel, support, and encouragement every step of the way. His quiet strength and deep understanding of municipal government helped shape us into the public servants we aspired to be. I will always be grateful for his generosity and leadership.
Today, I am proud to return the favor and endorse Yitz Stern for State Assembly.
Yitz’s years of experience on the Teaneck Council, as deputy mayor, and as a longtime planning board member have prepared him to be an effective voice for our communities in Trenton. He knows how government works — and more importantly, how to make it work for the people he serves. Yitz is a listener, a builder, and a problem-solver. He leads with integrity and humility, and he never stops fighting for what’s right.
With Yitz Stern and Rosemary Hernandez Carroll, we have the opportunity to send experienced, principled, and community-rooted leadership to the State Assembly. I hope you will join me in supporting them in this critical election.
