Kol hakavod to the hardworking performers in the Ramaz Upper School’s spring play, Brighton Beach Memoirs. The tight cast of seven students brilliantly captured the drama and humor of Neil Simon’s coming-of-age story. In the play, a Jewish family in 1930s NYC navigates their interpersonal relationships in the midst of the Great Depression and the rise of WWII. The actors gave the audience a great deal to contemplate, from the nuances of family tension to the complexities of that historical moment. They performed twice for their peers during the school day, and again for friends and family in the evening.
