Ramaz is so proud that four upper school students participated in the Jerusalem Marathon for Shalva, the Israel Association for the Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. Kol hakavod to Serena A. ‘27, Elianna G. ‘27, Eleanor G. ‘27 and Ayla K. ‘27. After landing in Israel, they visited the Shalva National Center. The director of Shalva’s sports center, along with the Bnot Sherut who volunteer there, spoke about the programs Shalva runs and the impact it’s had on them. That evening, they had dinner and a dance party with the children at Shalva. The day of the marathon itself was beautiful, challenging and meaningful. As Elianna G. said, “I felt deeply connected. I was running for Shalva, for my personal goal and to express my Jewish pride. The weather was perfect, and my spirits were high… Along the route, hearing people cheer “Go Shalva!” reminded me I was running for something much bigger than myself. I’m proud to be part of such a strong and inspiring people.”
