Restoring Pride: Hundreds of Flags Replaced at Jewish Veterans’ Graves by Scouts and Volunteers

Mason Rosenfeld (in uniform)

Each year prior to Memorial Day and again prior to Veterans Day, volunteers place flags on the graves of Jewish veterans at two local cemeteries. King Solomon Cemetery in Clifton has 55,000 graves; many are those of veterans. In addition to community members at large, members of shomer Shabbos Scout Troop 226 lend a helping hand. This past week, Mason Rosenfeld and Ethan Rockwell lent a most welcome helping hand. Several hundred torn and tattered flags were replaced.

Used flags are properly burned and used flag sticks indicate the large number of flags that were replaced.
