This past week, the RKYHS girls hockey team traveled to HANC to continue their fight to be in the playoffs. The first and second period consisted of lots of back and forth but neither the Cobras nor the Hurricanes were unable to put one in the net. After taking a penalty, Emily Baum came running out of the box with full speed to make it a 1-0 game. The third period started and it was clear the Cobras were coming out strong. With six minutes left in the game, Madison Teich cleared the ball and Captain Emily Tennenberg took off on a breakaway. After the Hanc goalie attempted to cover the ball, Emily got her own rebound, turned and backhanded it into the net. In the same shift, Emily T. finds the ball behind the net, wraps it around and stuffs it in putting the Cobras up 3-0. The Cobras were not done there. As the time ran out, Zoe Keiser had the ball in the corner, spun out, shot and scored, making the final score 4-0. Emily Baum received the game MVP helmet and the team celebrated their win by stopping for slurpees on the way home.
