Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

The freshmen grade headed out on Judaic Studies trips this week. The Freshman girls went on a trip to NYC, where they explored connections to Judaism, the Torah and community. They heard a shiur from Rabbi Azi Fine and a panel of alumni at Stern College, as well as an inspiring talk from Adina Lichtman (RKYHS ’11), founder of Knock Knock Give a Sock, about homelessness and creating change through nonprofit work. The girls enjoyed a delicious lunch and had a great time bonding and hanging out throughout the day.

The Freshman boys had the great privilege of visiting Beth Medrash Gavoah of Lakewood, the largest Yeshiva in America. They witnessed thousands of students studying Torah and were privileged to hear Torah thoughts from Rabbi Shlomo Landau, former RKYHS rebbe, and Rabbi Ahron Gruman. The boys went to one of the local pizza shops for lunch and had the opportunity to shop at Judaica Plaza, New Jersey’s largest Judaica store.
