RPRY Visits Milk and Honey Meadows Farm

As a culmination of a year-long study of הלכות שבת, RPRY sixth and seventh grade girls went on a trip to Milk and Honey Meadows Farm in Jackson, NJ, to experience their learning and watch it come alive. Led by Rabbi Wachman, the farm’s owner, the girls participated in the first 11 מלאכות related to baking bread, getting involved in מלאכות including plowing, planting, cutting, threshing and winnowing. Teachers and Rabbi Wachman were very impressed with the girls’ demonstration of the knowledge that they had learned. Students also reviewed the מלאכות related to preparing hides and were now able to see the steps of the process up close. Experiencing the classroom lessons hands-on made the process more tangible and reinforced the idea that the Torah we learn is a living Torah. RPRY is so appreciative of the Renna and Rappaport families for their sponsorship of the program.
