Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

RYNJ’s Yom HaShoah programs were deeply impactful for middle school students as well as fourth and fifth graders. The middle school’s presentation “Their Memory Still Burning” highlighted the life stories of six courageous Holocaust survivors, allowing the students to reflect upon the past and understand the legacy that is their future. Additionally, RYNJ was honored to host Mrs. Marlit Wandel, a survivor, who mesmerized the students with a gripping account of her childhood, her resilient survival and messages of positivity and unwavering אמונה. Fourth and fifth graders were privileged to hear from masterful speaker and RYNJ Rebbe Rabbi Abish, who shared the experiences of his parents, Holocaust survivors. Understanding the solemnity of this day, and that they are each a precious link in our history, was deeply powerful for the students.
