RYNJ fifth graders participated in a challenge where they acted as engineers and using the design process, competed to construct the tallest tower. Each team was given 20 pieces of spaghetti, one yard of string, one yard of tape and only one marshmallow. The teamwork that was portrayed among each team was outstanding and the skills the students learned in their engineering unit were demonstrated very well. They gained so much from this introductory experience to engineering and are looking forward to continuing to learn about the ins and outs of this topic.
