RYNJ Talmidot Enter a Winter Wonderland

It’s cold outside and the snow is falling, so the middle school talmidot of RYNJ chose “Hashem’s Winter Wonderland” as the timely theme of their Rosh Chodesh Adar I breakfast last Wednesday.

The RYNJ students of 6G2 were in charge, and they set up the lunchroom in a winter motif. Tables were adorned with black and white tablecloths, snowmen sculptures, snowflakes, and snow glitter. The sixth through eighth grade banot wore their winter hats to add to the winter mood. The girls enjoyed hot cocoa and marshmallows along with their bagels. Daphna Hook and Ruti Frohlich delivered a dvar Torah in which they highlighted the beauty of snow and the wonders from Hashem. They focused on the aishet chayil who praises Hashem and is always prepared for whatever comes her way.

Ayelet Glaser won the winter hat raffle contest, and Tova Felman won the matmidot mini-auction for this month’s learning.

The chesed committee of the Student Council organized a tzedakah campaign and encouraged each talmidah to donate $1 to Standing Together, an organization that provides winter coats to IDF soldiers. RYNJ’s industrious ba’alot chesed also helped prepare special water bottles that will be given to the first graders at their Chumash presentations.

Finally, the girls were challenged in an RYNJ trivia contest to see how many trivia facts they know about their school. Here is a sample of some of the questions.

1. Which middle school talmidah has the longest hair?

2. How many married couples work in RYNJ?

3. How many pizza pies does the middle school eat every Friday?

4. What is the number of middle school morot who played on their school’s basketball team?

5. Rabbi Price’s new son’s name is.

{Answers: 1). Adira Sklar 2) 3 couples 3) 33 pies 4) 2 morot 5) Akiva}
