Students at WTA Celebrate Lag B’Omer

There is a first time for everything! This year, WTA students and faculty took part in a virtual Lag B’Omer celebration. Staying true to the many components that would normally take place at school, the staff got creative with ways to engage the children from home. From a live kumzitz with music and stories, to a lesson on how to make a medurah (bonfire)—and s’mores!—and chavruta learning in Zoom breakout rooms, the students had an extremely memorable day. In SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) the students in grades one through four learned to draw a medurah. Just like logs give fire the energy to keep burning, students discussed what gives them energy. Then, each student designed “energy logs’’ with their energy sources to add to their medurot.
