The Moriah fifth grade classes had the opportunity to hear from some very special guests last week.

Last Monday artist Eitan Barokas visited with the fifth grade students via Zoom. He shared with the students how he became an artist and explained his methodology. Barokas took the students on a virtual tour of his art studio. Afterwards, the students took in all that they saw and created their own artwork inspired by Barokas!

Nora Raleigh Baskin, award winning author of “Anything but Typical” and 13 other books, visited with class 5-2 last Tuesday. She came as a result of fifth grader Shira Sager’s graphic novel response to Baskin’s novel. The students listened to her discuss her life as an author and were able to ask questions. This was a very unique opportunity for them.
