On a beautiful Wednesday evening last week, the RKYHS Class of 2020 gathered with their families for a festive socially distant outdoor graduation that they will remember forever.
Arriving to RKYHS for their last time as students, in cars fully decorated by each senior, the graduates joined a car parade as their car filled with their family members passed through rows of balloons arches while being cheered on by their faculty and administration.
The meaningful graduation ceremony included a graduation address by classmate Josh Shapiro and remarks from Head of School Rabbi Rubin and Board Co-President Dov Lando. Each student emerged from their cars and were called up one by one to receive their diplomas and walk across the outdoor stage, cheered on by a rousing cacophony of horns honking to show their support.
The ceremony was also accessible over Zoom and broadcast on the car radio of all those in attendance. At the end of the ceremony, students departed in a celebratory car recessional. The RKYHS administration joins the class of 2020 in thanking a generous donor who added to what was already a memorable and special evening for the Class
