Yeshivat He’Atid Students Build Fine Motor Skills…and a Sukkah

Yeshivat He’Atid’s Shorashim students worked on a sensory and fine motor skill-building activity connected to Sukkot. The students steadily and carefully poured sand into a yellow balloon and formed the sand into the shape of an etrog to create sensory etrogim! When conversations in the sukkah go past dessert time, little ones can take out their mushy, smushy, fun etrogim to keep busy! Pre-k students were also hard at work, preparing for Sukkot. The students built their own classroom sukkah. They discussed the different items that belong on and within a sukkah. They worked with various textiles and textures to create a sukkah with natural materials and decorations. They had so much fun using grass and evergreen branches to create schach. This project truly brought the mitzvah of building the sukkah to life!
