Ma’ayanot Hosts Dynamic, Vibrant Virtual Open House

Asked to describe her experience at Ma’ayanot, junior Leora Tiger said, “It’s amazing to be in a place where you can tell that every person in the building wants to be there, and beautiful relationships can be built from that feeling.” The warmth, caring, encouragement, spirituality and individuality that define Ma’ayanot were evident at Ma’ayanot’s successful Open House on Sunday, October 25, when prospective Ma’ayanot students and parents, attending in record numbers, got a taste of Ma’ayanot’s outstanding educational and leadership opportunities. Dena Block, director of Admissions, explained, “We had to think creatively about how to convey our values, mission and energy in a virtual space, but every aspect of the Open House was done with intentionality.” As Head of School CB Neugrosochl said, the Open House celebrated “the incredible heart, positivity and teamwork” that epitomize Ma’ayanot.

Ma’ayanot offers top-notch academic rigor combined with joyous and meaningful engagement in learning, and seamless support and guidance in all areas—religious, academic and social—to bring students successfully from the first day of high school to Israel, college and beyond. Sophomore Aliza Poloner, who spoke to prospective students at the Open House, recalled that “adjusting to high school can be challenging, but Ma’ayanot is so accommodating and helps make the transition smooth. The teachers and administrators are really warm and available and make everyone feel right at home! Ma’ayanot offers many opportunities and extracurricular activities to fit everyone’s passions, and they are great ways to branch out and meet new people.” Senior Ayelet Kurz, who spoke to parents at the Open House, said that “the Ma’ayanot experience is molded to each individual student. Academic opportunities range from support to enrichment, and there is a clear-cut way to initiate clubs.” Concluded junior Ateret Tollinsky, “Ma’ayanot is a place where everyone is welcome to be themselves.”
