Ma’ayanot Head of School, CB Neugroschl, addressed Ma’ayanot parents in an evening shiur entitled “Light Up Your Life.” At this virtual night of Torah learning, Neugroschl examined the pasuk כי נר מצוה ותורה אור and interpretations of it that emphasize the religious growth of each individual through action, not just beliefs. Her underlying message to parents was that intentionally putting in the effort to perform mitzvot regularly allows each person the opportunity to build the habits of being an eved Hashem, building an inner life of spirituality and a connection to Hashem. Practicing mitzvot as a regular and routine commitment, leads each of us to internalize the values behind mitzvot and to create that deeper connection that we seek with Hashem. Neugroschl was so happy to have the chance to meet with parents and to further connect the Ma’ayanot family together and share in Torah that reflects things that we could all be doing right now to build our better selves.
