Yeshivat Noam Commemorates Martin Luther King Day

The Yeshivat Noam middle school had a very meaningful Martin Luther King Day. Throughout their day, students were engaged in meaningful conversations, watched thought provoking videos and read influential literature pieces about the Civil Right Movement. In English class, students analyzed the literary imagery of Dr. King’s “I have a dream speech,” and examined Langston Hughes “I, Too, Sing America” poem. In social studies, students saw how the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a peaceful and nonviolent protest, was the beginning of the end of segregation in the United States. Additionally, students engaged in a gallery walk of quotes from Martin Luther King Jr. and connected his words to their lives.
