Last Thursday night, over 250 students, parents and faculty attended a special parent-son mishmar at TABC. Following Ma’ariv, Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, the dean of Student Life at YU’s Center for the Jewish Future, kicked off the program and got everyone ready for Chanukah as he spoke about what makes the chag different from all other Jewish holidays. He captivated the crowd and charged everyone in the room, especially the students, with making a meaningful difference in the world. Following Rabbi Glasser’s address, everyone made their way downstairs to the gym where the one and only Eitan Katz was waiting. For the next hour, students, parents and faculty sang and danced together in the candlelit gym. The evening concluded with cholent and kugel as everyone stuck around to enjoy each other’s company and reflect on the uplifting night.
