Throughout the year, Shefa fifth grade classes have been learning about the many contributions made by Jewish artists and philanthropists.  During a trip to The Jewish Museum, fifth graders visited the newly opened exhibition focusing on the Book of Esther.

In addition to learning how to look at and understand Judaic art, students have been exploring ways artists use pattern and repetition to create abstract art, learning to recognize and replicate Jewish symbols and motifs in art, and creating a mixed-media work of art inspired by Purim, Judaic scrolls and the Book of Esther.
