The Jewish Link of New Jersey would like to recognize 10-year-old Nate Brotsky as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The fourth grader at Yeshivat He’Atid has been ripping up in the third/fourth grade MGBL boys division for team Kindersmiles. One of his finest performances (before the league was put on hold) was a 27 point explosion that propelled team Kindersmiles to a double overtime victory.

Nate, congratulations on another great season. Who is your role model and why?

My dad. He’s the one who got me into sports and he taught me all of my moves.

What is your favorite sport?

Basketball, because it is intense and fast paced.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

Winning the championship in Teaneck Junior Soccer League and scoring a goal in the game.

What is your earliest sports memory?

When my family drove to Pittsburgh to watch a Steelers game and we said hi to Antonio Brown and he waved back to us.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Kyrie Irving because he’s got great handles and is so much fun to watch, especially as a Nets fan.

What is your favorite sports memory?

When I scored 27 points in an MGBL game and led my team to victory by scoring the winning basket in double overtime.

What is your pregame routine?

Shoot around and get hyped.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?

Hang out with my friends and play video games.

What is your weirdest sports memory?

When I was 5 years old, I went to a San Jose Sharks game and some dude spilled beer on my head.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

Showing that hard work and dedication pay off.
