Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

On the first day of December, the now 2-0 Moriah 7B basketball team defeated RPRY at home, 43-35. Moriah established a quick pace as Rafi Lewis and Isaac Horowitz each attacked the hole and finished with a layup. Then, Jon Comet took over for Moriah with his flashy passes and spectacular drives towards the hoop. Moriah finished a great first half with Aaron Lubat’s buzzer beater, leading 29-11.

Towards the end of the game, RPRY began its comeback. RPRY played viciously as they grabbed almost every offensive rebound possible, out-rebounding Moriah, 35-33. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to complete their task as time ran out.

The highlight of the night goes to 6-foot center Gaby Katz, as he blocked the shot, picked up the rebound, and finished with a nice lefty fast break layup. Katz led Moriah with 8 points, followed by Comet and Ethan Schechter, each with 6.
