The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize Mo Proctor as Sportstar of the week. The 15-year-old TABC sophomore is averaging 20+ points a game, while being the focal point of the opposing team’s defense. Proctor displayed that he can handle the pressure when he hit a fade away three at the buzzer of regulation in the championship game of the Rubenstein tournament to force overtime and lead the Storm to its first ever Rubenstein crown. When asked about Porctor, TABC coach Elli Orlinsky told the JLNJ, “Mo is that rare breed where his extremely high talent level is exceeded on;y by his extraordinary work ethic.”
Mo who would you say is your role mode?
My role model is Lebron James. I really look up to Lebron, because he’s able to ignore and tune out all the people that don’t like him. The way Lebron carries himself on and off the court is an inspiration to me and athletes everywhere
What is your pregame meal?
On game day, I try to eat a light lunch, nothing too heavy, usually either a salad or some pasta. Before the game I try to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
What is your earliest sports memory?
My earliest sports moment came when I was 10 years old. I had the opportunity to shoot baskets on the NBA’S Golden State Warriors court. The arena was empty except for me and my family. I said to myself how cool would it be if, as a 10-year-old, I could hit a 3-pointer on my first try. I stepped behind the line, and splash.
What is your favorite thing to do when not playing sports?
My favorite thing to do when I’m not playing sports is to watch sports. I am deeply intrigued to watch basketball and football.
What is the best thing about being a sportstar?
The best thing about being a sports star is having the abilities to try and lead my team to a championship. Trying to be a better leader on and off the court is all I strive for.
