Bruriah Volleyball Report

The Bruriah Lightning A Varsity volleyball team (0-4) is off to a slow start this season. In recent Led by seniors Talia Schiff (Teaneck) and Frayda Glucksman (Clifton), the Lightning team showed valiant effort on the road at Ma’ayanot and as host to Frisch.

SAR Varsity Hockey Tops Frisch in OT

In an overtime thriller, SAR edged Frisch by a score of 3-2. Frisch scored the first goal minutes into the 1st period, but Azi Lavi responded with a goal of his own to tie it up. Early in the 2nd period, Jacob Ungar scored a power play goal to give SAR a 2-1 lead. Frisch responded with a fluke goal with 8:10 remaining


Gotham Burger Sportstars of the Week-Avi & Josh Winslow

The Jewish Link of Bergen County and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 6-year-old Avi and 5-year-old Josh Winslow as co-sportstars of the week. The Winslow brothers were standout players on the AIFL Flag football Seahawks team. In a league of kindergarten and 1st graders, team Seahawks were at a disadvantage


The Defending Champs Are Back

The Moriah 7th grade boys’ basketball team won its season opener versus RYNJ, 47-35, on Monday night, November 17th. Coming off of a big win against Solomon Schechter of Bergen County, RYNJ put up a strong fight against the YMSSA defending champs.

YU Maccabees Tip Off New Season

On Sunday, November 16th, the Yeshiva University Men’s Basketball Maccabees started the 2014-15 season at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. If you are not up for the drive to our nation’s capital, most games are available via live video on the Maccabee’s website, yumacs.com.



MTA Varsity Basketball on Fire

Two weeks ago, the MTA Varsity Lions basketball team pulled off a great team win against Ramaz. Led by great big-man play by Josh Blumenthal and Ilan Steinmetz, who combined for 30 points, along with stellar defense from Gabi Bean and a couple of clutch threes from Willy Kluger, the Lions got their first victory of the season, 51-49, in


Teaneck 12U: Undefeated Season And Champions

As a cap to an unbelievable season, the 12U fall team has won their first championship after going undefeated for the entire season. Some games were closer than others and because of a beautiful fall season only one game had been rained out.

Ma’ayanot JV Basketball Report

The Rapids JV Basketball Team had two strong games last week. On Monday night they topped local rival Frisch Cougars. Ma’ayanot came out with intensity and aggression to make up for the devastating 6-point loss to SAR the week before.

In the varsity home opener, SAR put on a show defeating Kushner by a score of 50-18.
