There is a mission, a purpose, waiting for each and every one of us. We were all placed in this world for a reason, and that is to help spread Godliness in different ways.
In Parshat Terumah, I believe that Hashem makes this message abundantly clear. In the Mishkan, there will be two keruvim. Rashi explains that these two figures will have faces like children, and the pasuk tells us they will have wings. While there can be many interpretations as to why Hashem put the face of a child and wings on the keruvim, I believe that the best explanation is that this was to be a reminder for Bnei Yisrael. We are all keruvim! We are the children of Hashem, and He placed us in this world not to sit and do nothing but to fly and spread our wings. While we each have our own wings and purpose, we can fly together and use our individuality to help others and spread Hashem’s light.
To further this point, we have just reached the month of Adar! I feel that it is now appropriate to start mentioning the story of Purim, where we see this exact case of two children of Hashem using their wings to help one another and spread godliness. The Purim story doesn’t mention the name of Hashem, however, Mordechai and Esther, two children of Hashem, make it known that this story did not occur by chance, but by the hand of God. Mordechai and Esther both showed this by using the gifts Hashem gave them to help save the Jews. Mordechai knew how to push Esther to spread her wings and how to help save the Jews. Together, with Hashem’s help, they spread their two separate wings and fulfilled the different purposes that Hashem had given them.
I give you all a bracha that you should not be scared to open your wings! You should soar and spread godliness in the world, and each one of you should fulfill your mission and help the children of Hashem!
