On Wednesday April 30, the TABC Ivrit department presented a tekes to honor the fallen soldiers of Israel along with victims of terror. The theme of the tekes was ‘light,’ symbolizing how their memories will continue to illuminate our path. Through commemoration of the fallen, remembrance becomes a part of the present as we create a legacy and a source of inspiration and pride—lighting the path by which future generations are shaped. The TABC choir sang beautifully with various songs interspersed throughout the program. HaRav Adiel Mhazri, father of Lior ‘28, addressed the students as a soldier who went back to Israel to join with his unit in miluim both in Gaza and up North. He spoke of the heroism of the soldiers and how the army protects both Eretz Yisrael of today and Am Yisrael of the future. May their memories be a blessing.
The next day TABC switched gears to celebrate Yom Ha’Atzmaut with a special Tefillah Chagigit, delicious breakfast and festive Israeli lunch. Freshmen and Sophomores had a special Kahoot testing their Israel knowledge. Congratulations to Rabbi Avraham Wein’s 10th grade Gemara Shiur on their victory!
