The TABC JV Softball team earned a hard fought 11-8 victory against the Heichal Hornets at Overpeck Park last Friday afternoon. Coming into the game on a four game losing streak, the Storm were in desperate need of a win. With two outs in the bottom of the first and the Hornets with runners in scoring position, Zach Field ’27 made a clutch diving catch in left field to keep the game scoreless. TABC capitalized in the top of the second, as Aaron Brothman ’27 delivered an RBI double to get the Storm on the board. The offensive effort continued in the next inning with Tani Fleischmann ’27 and Micha Block ’28 each driving in runs. After Heichal managed to cut the deficit in half, the Storm bats came alive, racking up several hits including RBI’s from sophomores Akiva Schmidt and Ori Schloss. The Hornets mounted a late rally, scoring five runs in the final inning and putting the tying run on deck, but their comeback fell short when Etai Berkovits ’27 snagged a hard liner at shortstop for the final out. This was the second win of the season for the Storm as they regained some momentum heading into their final stretch of the season.
