On Wednesday, six members of the Class of 2023 headed to Washington, D.C. along with representatives from YUPAC, the bipartisan Israel advocacy group at YU. The group had the opportunity to hear from Senator Ben Cardin (D- Maryland) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), as well as several aides from various D.C. political offices, and got to lobby about important issues regarding Israel. They concluded the day by hearing from a panel of AIPAC staff at AIPAC’s headquarters where they enjoyed a pizza dinner. The students—Kivi Davis, Jacob Horn, Ariel Kryzman, Akiva Lieber, Shimon Ross and Sariel Rotblat—were led by TABC alumni and current YU students Ezra Seplowitz ‘20, and Sam Weinberg ‘20, Shlomo Yellin ‘21 and Yoav Zolty ‘19 who were all active members of the Israel Advocacy club during their respective tenures at TABC.
