TABC Storm Track Sweep Cross Country Competition

On Sunday November 8, the TABC Storm Track ventured to Van Cortlandt Park for the Yeshiva League cross country competition. The 5-kilometer race was held on a rigorous hilly course. There were five schools competing: TABC, SAR, Frisch, Ramaz and Ma’ayanot. Lead by coach and ex-TABC track captain, Shmuel Knoller (‘13), the TABC Storm swept the competition and had the top five overall runners. The first overall time was Captain Zack Greenberg (‘16) with 22:19. Coming in second, third and fourth were Yaakov Weider (‘18), Avi Cooper (‘17) and newbie Shimmy Alter (‘17), who all finished within eight seconds of each other. Coming in fifth place was Eitan Schmeltz (‘16), who ran his first meet and was very impressive. In eighth and ninth place were rookie of the year Natan Lehman (‘19) and Jared Benjamin (‘16)—who finished within six seconds of each other—and in fourteenth place was Ariel Fromowitz (‘16), all of whom ran their first meets and looked very promising. Yosef Marom (‘19), whose Koran-like strategy was a crucial part of the meet. It was a beautiful day outside and a great victory for the undefeated reigning track champs.
