(Courtesy of TABC Sports) The TABC Varsity Soccer team traveled to Great Neck to face off against the North Shore Lions in the opening round of the playoffs. From the opening whistle, the Storm set the tempo. Tzvi Gold ’26 came out of goal and caught the opposing keeper off his line, scoring the opening goal and the first of his career.
TABC’s defense stood firm throughout the first half, frustrating the Lions’ attack at every turn. With just 12 seconds remaining in the first quarter, heads up play by Daniel Sladowsky ’25 doubled the TABC lead. Early in the second quarter, Sammy Mohl ’26 added a third, and Gold kept a clean sheet to send the Storm into halftime with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
North Shore came out firing in the second half, netting two quick goals to put the pressure back on the Storm. Sammy Levine ’25 answered right back, restoring the two goal cushion. Shortly after, North Shore thought they cut the deficit back to one, but the ref ruled the shot as no goal. Yoav Linder ’25 capitalized on the other end, scoring to put TABC back in cruise control.
Levine later notched his second goal of the game and Linder delivered a perfect setup to Noam Bieler ’26 to put the game on ice. The final score was 7-3 in favor of TABC.
With the win, the Storm now move on to the semifinals.
