Tuesday night April 28, in Teaneck, the TABC Storm volleyball team faced one of their toughest challenges yet—hosting the undefeated North Shore Lions in a must-win match to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The opening set gave a glimpse of the intensity to come all night. North Shore jumped out to a six point lead, but the Storm showed grit and determination, battling back to save two set points and edge out a 25-23 victory.
In the second set, it was TABC who took control early, only for the Lions to rally and tie things up at 16. Out of a smart timeout and strong coaching, the Storm responded with five straight points, taking the set and going up 2-0.
Just when it seemed like the Storm would cruise to a win in straight sets, North Shore dug deep and came roaring back. The Lions took the next two sets, forcing a decisive fifth set and swinging the momentum in their favor.
