For the fifth time in seven years, TABC has come in first at the Landers College Model Beis Din competition. This year TABC tied with Mesivta of Philadelphia. Ten TABC talmidim participated in the intense competition held this past Sunday at Lander’s College in Queens. There was an excellent mix of experienced seniors and younger students joining for the first time. Students from 10 schools debated the halachic permissibility of programming self-driving cars to kill one person in order to save five people. The talmidim, led by their coach Rabbi Jachter, were thoroughly prepared and thought creatively to develop the ideas that brought TABC to victory. Lander’s College Rosh Yeshiva Rav Yonasan Sacks told Rabbi Jachter that he was impressed at the thorough and proper preparation made by the TABC talmidim.
