With the support of Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Councilmen Chaim Munk and Daniel Schwartz, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Moshe Gross. I am a lifelong local resident, living in the frum Passaic-Clifton community for all of my 35 years.
I have watched the Passaic-Clifton frum community grow from a small, out-of-town kehilla into the incredible marvel that it is now, a vibrant, thriving community with over 5,000 frum schoolchildren. My wife and I have chosen to raise our own family in Passaic.
I was blessed to have a front row seat to watch some of the foundational pillars of the community build up the mosdos and yeshivot that all of us now enjoy. Since I was young, I have felt a strong sense of purpose that one day, I too can help the community grow.
Craig Miller, the frum community’s long-time voice on the Passaic Board of Education, has decided not to run for reelection when his term expires in May. Craig worked tirelessly on behalf of the community and city and was a tremendous advocate for all students. We owe Craig much hakarat hatov for his 14 years of service. I am humbled to have been asked to run for the upcoming Board of Education election and look forward to representing all of Passaic in this important position.
The election will be held on Tuesday April 15, the first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach. I have asked multiple rabbanim in the Passaic community and they all agree that voting is a “Davar Ha’avid” and is muttar on Chol Hamoed.
March 25 is the voter registration deadline to participate in the April 15 school board election. Navigate to this website to register to vote in New Jersey: voter.svrs.nj.gov/register. April 8 is the deadline to apply by mail for a mail-in ballot for the school board election. If you will not be in Passaic on April 15, please request a mail-in ballot and vote by mail. There is a link below for a mail-in ballot application. There’s no reason to risk missing your opportunity to vote, and the cost is nothing more than a postage stamp:

Please take a few minutes to ensure that you are registered to vote and that you have a plan to have your vote counted — either by mail or in person.
On April 15, I will be running as a member of Team Passaic. Please vote #1 (Patricia “Abril” Barrales-Garcia), #4 (Maryann Capursi), and #5 (Michael “Moshe” Gross).

Thank you in advance for your support.
