At Westchester Day School, Torah learning doesn’t stay in the classroom—it permeates the hallways, doorways and daily experiences of the students. This week, eighth grade students had the unique opportunity to take part in the mitzvah of affixing mezuzot throughout the school building.
With focus and intention, students ensured that each doorway was properly marked with a mezuzah—an act that reflects both our communal values and Jewish identity. This meaningful initiative not only fulfilled a mitzvah but also served as a reminder of the sacredness of the spaces we learn, teach and grow in every day.
By participating in this hands-on act of Torah in action, the eighth graders brought spirituality into the physical spaces of the school, setting an example for younger students and strengthening their own connection to mitzvot and tradition.
