In preparation for Passover, the WTA gym was transformed into a real-life matzah factory this past Wednesday. Rabbi Chaim Pinczower from the Chabad of Larchmont and Mamaroneck visited WTA and taught the 2’s through second graders about how matzah is made, starting with the stalks of wheat. The students took part in every step of the process—cleaning the stalks, grinding and sifting them into flour, and adding water to create the dough. They then rolled out the dough and used a special tool to poke holes, turning it into matzah.
They also learned that matzah must be baked for just 18 minutes to maintain its proper status for Passover. It was such a fun and hands-on way for the students to experience the traditional process of making matzah, and they had a great time getting involved!
