The sixth graders have been learning about plate tectonics. Plate tectonics is a scientific theory that explains how major landforms are created as a result of Earth’s subterranean movements. To better understand the concept, the students cut apart the continents on the current map of the world and glued them together without oceans. They created a representation of Pangea—a supercontinent—before the separation of the continents.
