The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Jesse Friedman as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The first grader at Yeshivat He’Atid, started off the Bergen County Flag Football League Fall 2023 season with a 95 yard run for the Humble Toast 49ers. When asked about Jesse, his older brothers Noah and Caleb told The Jewish Link, “Jesse is always playing sports whether it’s basketball, football or soccer. His favorite thing to do is play football with his dad and older brothers. He always has a smile on his face whether he’s winning or losing.” BCFL Co-Commissioner Steve Gutlove added, “Jesse, much like his older brothers Noah and Caleb, is an all star, both on and off the field. Looking forward to seeing Jesse and his brothers continue to tear it up in the Bergen County Flag Football League for many years to come.”

My sister Selah because she loves everyone and always gives me hugs.
What is your favorite sport?
Basketball because you can shoot and dunk.
What is your pregame routine?
Practice.
What is your greatest sports accomplishment?
My 95 yard touchdown run in flag football.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Jalen Hurts, because he’s a great QB.
What is your earliest sports memory?
Playing football in the rain in kindergarten.
What is your weirdest sports memory?
When two of my friends’ dads were my football coaches.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
Ride my bike.
What is your favorite sports memory?
My first interception.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
Everyone is going to see me in the paper—I’ll be famous !
